How Ikigara Was Born

I’ve always believed that the workplace is much more than just a place where we earn a living. It’s where we grow.

We spend a significant part of our lives at work. We learn, make mistakes, take on responsibilities, build confidence, and slowly become different versions of ourselves. Every promotion, every challenge, every conversation shapes who we are. That made me think!

If the workplace has such an influence on our growth, shouldn’t the way we dress for it matter too? Not because we need to impress others, but because what we wear influences how we feel, how we carry ourselves, and how confidently we step into every opportunity. I couldn’t find workwear that reflected that belief. Most options asked women to choose between looking professional and feeling comfortable. I believed they deserved both.

That’s how IKIGARA was born.

A brand built on the belief that workplace fashion should empower your journey, not by changing who you are, but by helping you show up as your best self.

Because work is where we grow. And what we wear should grow with us.
